Here in sunny Clovis, CA, our staff and residents bond together like family. Orchard Park is not a hospital or a facility; it’s an active senior living community where we focus on creating meaningful social bonds and new life experiences. As a part of the Blue Harbor mission, our senior care staff seeks to tailor our senior care plans to each resident’s unique preferences, likes, and dislikes.
Whether a resident is in our memory care program, assisted living, or is receiving short-term senior respite care, we want to know how to make their experience as comfortable and engaging as possible. In order to personalize each resident’s experience at Orchard Park Senior Living, we take extra time to get to know each and every one of our residents. What Is the Smile Program?
Staying in Touch
Smile is a software platform available for all Blue Harbor communities. It is designed to enhance communication between families of our residents and our senior care staff. Smile gives families of our residents 24/7 access to their loved one’s daily activities through a secure, private portal, and is accessible through any web-enabled device: iPhone, iPad, computer, smartphone, etc.
If you sign up for Smile, you are given a unique login to access the private portal. Log in and you can see upcoming community events, which activities your loved one has been attending, and gain quick and easy access to our monthly newsletter and activities calendars. The platform also allows you to customize the way that you receive notifications of new messages or upcoming events.
One of our favorite features of Smile is that it helps us to learn more about each of our residents. Families can use Smile to add personal details about their loved one, such as their hobbies, favorite music, and important life events. This helps us to personalize the kinds of activities we plan or the kinds of WOW! Moments we organize. Knowing all of these likes and dislikes also allows our senior care staff to personalize our conversations with the residents, connecting with them on a more personal level.
Share Special Moments
Smile has a lot of wonderful features that are designed to help keep residents and their families connected. Not only can families of residents stay up to date on all of the activities and events that their loved one is participating in, but they can also use the platform to share special moments.
Did a granddaughter recently graduate? Did you and your family recently take a trip abroad? Through Smile, families of residents can send photos and videos, asking the senior care staff to share these beautiful memories with the resident. This is a great way to stay connected to your senior loved one in between visits and phone calls.
You can also request photos of your senior loved one. Our senior care staff can use the platform to send you individual messages with pictures of your senior loved one enjoying a recent group activity.
How It Works
If you’re interested in using the Smile Program to help us optimize care for your senior loved one, just let us know and our senior care staff will gladly get you enrolled. Once we know you want to enroll, all we’ll need is your e-mail address.
